I provide a wide range of treatments each with specific targets for different individuals. I have experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, couples, and families. Currently, I provide more consultation to therapists and companies with a very small caseload for therapy clients.
Supervision & Consultation
Provide supervision and consultation to clinicians seeking growth towards licensure or for case conceptualization. Whether support is needed ongoing or for specific treatment needs, consultation is available to those who seek it.
Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)
IPT is a time-limited treatment that encourages the patient to regain control of mood and functioning typically lasting 12–16 weeks. IPT is based on the principle that there is a relationship between the way people communicate and interact with others and their mental health.
IPT is a type of treatment for patients with depression which focuses on past and present social roles and interpersonal interactions. During treatment, the therapist generally chooses one or two problem areas in the patient's current life to focus on. Examples of areas covered are disputes with friends, family or co-workers, grief and loss and role transitions, such as retirement or divorce. IPT does not attempt to delve into inner conflicts resulting from past experiences. Rather it attempts to help the patient find better ways to deal with current problems.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a type of new wave therapy. Its main goal is to teach the patient skills to cope with stress, regulate emotions and improve relationships with others. DBT combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation and reality-testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness largely derived from eastern meditative practice.
DBT is a specialist treatment that offer full therapeutic support by utilizing individual sessions, diary cards, skills training, and phone coaching support to assist the individual in becoming present focused and creating a life worth living.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for Anxiety or Stress
Generally a short-term treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on teaching you specific skills to directly manage your worries and help you gradually return to the activities you've avoided because of anxiety or stress. Through this process, your symptoms improve as you build on your initial success through the use of homework and outside of therapy skill use.
Family Therapy or Couples Counseling
Family therapy is a type of psychotherapy that helps family members improve communication and resolve conflicts.
It may include all family members or just those able or willing to participate. Your specific treatment plan will depend on your family's situation. Family therapy sessions can teach you skills to deepen family connections and get through stressful times, even after you're done going to therapy sessions.
Couples counseling can assist in developing healthy communication skills to better deal with current and future stressors. Effective therapy will likely address many aspects of the relationship, although communication tends to be the primary focus of relationship therapy. Goals will be established by the couple under the guidance of the therapist as each partner must be prepared to acknowledge and understand his or her role in the relationship.
